Successful rehearsal for Nice: Ryf wins Trans Vorarlberg

Another start in 2019, another victory in 2019: Daniela Ryf wins the Trans Vorarlberg Triathlon. The tough 93km bike course with over 2'000 meters of altitude demanded a lot from Ryf – but still her legs were “fresh” on the final 12k run.

Together with her team, the Daniela Ryf Birds, Daniela Ryf took part in the Trans Vorarlberg Triathlon. The triathlon, which led from Lake Constance to the Vorarlberg region, is one of four events of Spirit Multisport's new The Heimat European Triathlon League.

The women started at the same time as the men, which gave Ryf a good opportunity to compare her swimming performance. “I'm very happy with the swimming, I came out of the water together with the men,” said the four-time Hawaii winner. The following 93km on the bike were challenging, as the course leads over 2'000 meters of altitude.

After the beautiful but hard bike course, 12k of running awaited Ryf. “I felt fresh, which is a very good sign. Especially in regard to the World Championships in Nice in two weeks – that I know that I can still run okay even after a demanding bike course”, said Daniela Ryf after the race.

Now she will travel to St. Moritz for a week to complete more training blocks. On September 7th she will start at the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Nice (FRA). After a stop at home, Ryf will then travel to Maui, Hawaii and prepare during three weeks in a heat training camp for the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
