Sixth victory in Rapperswil-Jona for Daniela Ryf
For the sixth time in a row Daniela Ryf won the Ironman 70.3 in Rapperswil-Jona. The Solothurn native is especially happy to be the first to cross the finish line again at her home race.
After 4:08:34 hours Daniela Ryf reached the finish under the sun of Rapperswil-Jona. With a lead of just over seven minutes, the 32-year-old relegated the American Skye Moench to second place. Third was the German Svenja Thoes.
After Ryf returned home from the USA in April, not everything went according to plan. She had to be content with some hard and not always satisfying training weeks. "In the last weeks I hadn't felt so good, I couldn't do as much as I wanted in training", Ryf sums up the weeks. Nevertheless, and even with a sinus infection a few days before the 70.3 race in Rapperswil-Jona, she was able to call off her performance last Sunday.
In the coming weeks Daniela Ryf will train in St. Moritz under the direction of her coach Brett Sutton. "I know what still has to be done and I'm looking forward to the time in St. Moritz," said Ryf.

"I am very disappointed"
Daniela Ryf finishes the Ironman World Championship 2022 in Kona in eight place. "Of course, this is not the result I was hoping for."
