Fifth 70.3 World Champion title for Daniela Ryf

Daniela Ryf won her fifth 70.3 World Championship gold medal in Nice (FRA). In a tough race on the Côte d'Azur, Ryf distanced her competitors by more than two minutes.

Daniela Ryf already showed a great performance in the swimming. She was able to keep up with the fastest, got out of the water with the top group. The demanding bike course was ridden on a high level. "Everyone pushed, the dynamics were great", Ryf explained the bike section. As soon as it went downhill, however, she was able to outpace the others.

When she switched to the running track, the four-time Hawaii winner had a two-minute lead. "I knew then that I also had to show a good performance on the run in order to win," said Ryf after the race. "It was a brilliant race, I'm very satisfied with all three disciplines," said the freshly crowned five-time 70.3 World Champion.

On September 12th Daniela Ryf travels to Hawaii to complete one month of heat training as usual. The season highlight follows on October 12th with the IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii.
